How to play Sudoku

A Sudoku puzzle consists of a 9x9 grid, which is divided into nine 3x3 sub-grids.
Some of the squares in the grid will already have a number in them, typically between 1 and 9.
The goal of the puzzle is to fill in the empty squares with the numbers 1 through 9, using each number only once in each row, each column, and each 3x3 sub-grid.

Start by looking for squares with only one possible number that can go in them. Fill in those squares.
Then, look for rows, columns, or sub-grids that have only one possible empty square for a certain number. Fill in that square.

Keep going until you've filled in all the squares in the puzzle with the correct numbers.

Be patient and don't guess. Sudoku is a logic puzzle, so every number you fill in should be based on logical deduction rather than guessing.
Once you've filled in all the squares, double-check your work to make sure you haven't made any mistakes.
